I want to go There

New York's High Line Park

It looks beautiful... a great place to sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery.

"The elevated 1930s railroad track in New York City has been transformed into an innovative and contemporary public park."

Street Style in EL

Classic Converse..you can never go wrong! He has a comfortable, and relaxed look. I like his shorts! :]

Men and their love of Comics! Do you love Marvel or DC?
This hat is tight!

I like her rolled up skinny jeans, the plaid hood lining on her sweater is interesting.

This watch is so awesome! When I first took a glance at it I thought it was a bracelet. It has a futuristic look to it.

Adorable flats! I love the multi layer flower appliques with studs.

His outfit combines different prints/fabric weaves, from the weave in his hat, the stripe in his shirt, plaid in his scarf, and EVEN the stripe in his socks! He did an awesome job putting these different fabrics together!! Applause Applause!! He did this by one key concept...Gray! All his pieces have at least a hint of gray. The brown boat shoes become a focal point because they are the only thing not gray thus completing the look.

Love this bag, you can wear it with a variety of things from spring to fall. Goes great with a sundress to slacks. She wore it with leggings, fashion boots, a chunky sweater, and flowing blouse. ...Also a great accessory to have when traveling in a big city

Mopeds are EVERYWHERE on campus! (You can also find tons of bikes to.) These are one of the main forms of transportation in our community.

Scavenger Hunt

I made my way to a local shop in the area, Scavenger Hunt. I wanted to see what kind of merchandise they carry. This store sells vintage clothing, from the 70s, 80s and other decades as well. It is interesting to see all the bow ties available, records, vintage t shirts, and bowling shoes! You never know what treasure you will find!

Who wore these items? What trend were they following?  Where did that trend come from?

Show

Last night was the Sada Fashion Show and the theme was the "Art of Fashion". There were 43 designers in the show and that is the biggest number thus far...

Lorenzo Veneziano's work (Italian painter, active 1356-1372 in Venice) was the inspiration of my line. He is from the Gothic art period, you may have seen a similar style of his art in Catholic churches. He did beautiful pieces! Lorenzo painted the Lord and various people in his portraits with draped and flowing garments. I took those aspects and designed 3 looks but with my own twist of course!

I had a great time last night :D It is always an exciting experience to be part of a show. Being on stage is such a thrill, and is very rewarding.

I am so glad that my relatives and friends come to the show and were able to see my work. (Thank You so much for everyone's LOVE & SUPPORT!!! It means the world to me!!!) It is one thing to show people photos of garments and tell people about them ...it is another to be at the show and see them on the runway :] Much like seeing a picture of people play basketball verses being at the game!

The flowers my family gave me after the show, and the necklace I wore :D

V V

Vanessa Brown
- English recording artist
- Songwriter
- Producer

"Brown describes her sound as "musical mashed potatoes". Her style has been described as retro pop with an indie punk and rock edge. The Los Angeles Times has said: "Brown delivers something her retro UK peers have thus far lacked - just pure, whimsical fun"."

I like her looks in her pics and videos :]

High Heel Marathon

On your mark.Get set. Go!  SADA (student apparel design association) put together a very fun event I participated in yesterday! SADA supported the Path of Pink org. by donating part of the earnings from the event to them. Path of Pink designs clothing for women who are breast cancer survivors. The ladies were racing about a block length, between Elizabeth and Burchum. The prize for winning the race was a DSW gift card. This Marathon kicked off the start to Fashion Week and is leading up to the SADA fashion show on Saturday. (running in heels is not an easy task, considering one of mine almost came off!)

Here are some lovely heels that were being worn Sunday morning.
 This T is adorable!

considering

I'm considering purchasing this book... it's tempting to buy it right a way but I will wait a little longer. I hope the travel guide I buy is full of rich info and is worth the cost!

I will be thinking of this song on the flight there! :D

"In New York,
Concrete jungle where dreams are made of,
Theres nothing you can’t do,
Now you’re in New York,
These streets will make you feel brand new,
The lights will inspire you,
Lets here it for New York, New York, New York"
