Without Shoes
Labels: state news, toms.comWell there are children going without shoes everyday. "According to a statement from TOMS Shoes, wearing shoes can prevent many global health and education problems. In Ethiopia, for example, it is estimated that one million people are affected by Podoconiosis, a disease caused when walking without shoes in volcanic soil." Toms shoes makes it their goal to provide shoes to a child every time their company sells a pair of shoes. "According to a statement from the company, more than 400,000 pairs of shoes have reached children in need since the movement began about three years ago." One Day Without Shoes is an event held today, April 8th to bring international recognition of this need by walking barefoot whether for a few minutes, walking to work or at my school ...walking as a group on campus.
