Collars And Sleeves

These past few months I have been learning how to attach a sleeves to a bodice and how to make collars. All of this learning is exciting. I am one step closer to being more advanced, which makes me happy. I will be posting photos of what I have been working on soon! Its interesting how people on a regular basis don't think twice about collars and sleeves but when one begins constructing them there is a a different perspective experienced when looking at these different parts of a garment. Now I am working on patterns for my final project..I can't wait to see the results!

Hello Kitty!

Anything Hello Kitty is so cute and pretty!! I would love to have some things that are Gato beautified, --but NOT everything! If so, I might get overwhelmed with it all! I think this design is girly, stylish and not just for five year old :P As you can see by some pictures, this Hello Kitty can be seen on anything you can think of. I would pick for myself some pencils, a cute purse and necklace. Believe me, some items are high priced when you want this feline on merchandise!

Summer Lovin'

This summer I have been keeping myself busy with many garment projects and interior design decor !!! I made two tank tops, a scarf, a clutch purse, a pair of curtains, and a pretty frame!!! Talk about a fashion explosion! ..My boyfriend says I am a machine..I think he is right :P In the midst of all that I am trying to balance another business, and school is about to begin in a matter of days!! But, all is well! I am SOOO excited about my next design class! I can't wait to LEARN!! :D No one will ever hear me say that when I talk about anything to do with extensive mathematics. I have been filling my head with inspiration, confidence, compliments, and practice, now I am ready to improve! OH! Today my dad said my tank top looked like it was store bought :D I'm just getting better and better!...Here are pics of my latest creations:

First off: my lovely clutch! Colorful and sassy! I adore the aqua blue lining!

Next: My contemporary, cute and classy curtains! They are my pride and joy!

Another room decor piece: My gorgious frame with peacock feathers glued! Left over from my cousins wedding, this makes it a focal piont, and brings character to my room! :]

Next is my first tank top I made last summer, I finally finished it this summer:
Here is a look that can possibly be done with the tank top I made. The scarf I made is also in this picture.

This is my reconstructed skirt, featured in the picture above:

Lastly is my newest tanktop, that my dad thought was store bought:

Again another look that shows off the piece in a good light, I think the look is rather refreshing

Class Work

I made these items in school! Very exciting for me, mostly because these are my first professional pieces. After making them I found more confidence in my talent and future career.

One piece is a bodice that is considered a "draft" because of the kind of fabric it is made out of. It can be lengthened if I choose, into either a tank top or even a dress. The other piece is my lovely dress. The colors are fantstic and its simple yet a classic!

A little bit of this, a little bit of that

While thinking about what garments to make... I made some brooches and bracelets. The brooches can be worn with almost anything, and at any time of the year. They can put a little glamor on jackets, purses, totes, skirts etc. The bracelets can be worn nicely at anytime of the year as well. They would look best with a hint of similar colors, or complementing colors in the outfit.

Go Ugly

So last week I was looking around a book store and I stumbled upon these little critters!! My new find are stuffed characters called Ugly Dolls. (there is a link to the web site on my Creativity @ Large section) Although they were given the name ugly, their kind of ugly is the kind you can handle, without cringing! They have a cute and charming way about them that may out weigh the unattractiveness!

What caught my eye at first was the design ...and of course the name! The design is simple yet very detailed. The faces don't have "in your face" expressions, more low key which gave them a contemporary feel. They come in many colors, shapes and sizes, and even have corky names that match. One was called Big Toe, and it kinda looked like a toe..that was red and stuffed. That made me smile. This design deserves a kudos!

New Duds

These types of garments have been coming into mind when I think about what to make next. They are on my To Do List...of Design. Its nice having a plan.

Recently, I mended up my friend's green quarter sleeve polo. It brought a new and different look to it. It could possibly have more uses, and intrinsic value because of the changes made! My boyfriend described it as, "vintage". I am liking that feedback!

Getting Started

I have been creating fashion since a very young age, and now it is time to make something of everything that I have learned thus far. I am excited about making someone's wardrobe, and making people feel wonderful in the cloths they are wearing! Its an exciting time to be a blessing to others. I want the people that wear the garments I create to feel like, "This was made for me and is genuine in every way".
