K W

From one of the latest MSN articles I found out that Kanye West has new goals! He is exploring Fashion Design too! I think it is cool when actors, performers or other people in the public eye have a variety of interests and pursue them. We all express ourselves through various outlets in our free time... some examples are: playing an instrument, drawing, doing photography etc. ... So celebrities shouldn't be criticized for doing new things, because that is what keeps life interesting! I am looking forward to what he will create. Good Luck Kan

Latest fabric finds

I like these prints :]

Valentine

I was recently in my first fashion show (Evening of Elegance)! Yay :] It was held on Valentine's Day and this dress was featured in my line. I purchased this fabric months before February, before knowing about the show. After I found out the show was on V-day I thought this pink fabric and the jewels on it would fit the occasion. I think the dress is elegant and romantic. Not only does it have a gathered neckline but it ties into a bow at the back of the neck. I think all of the looks are great. One is chic and business professional and the other is a dressy casual dress that is very fun. The only thing I want to improve on is the cohesiveness of the line.

Garden Ambiance

This is the result of my last project I was talking about in the previous entry. I am very proud of my blouse with sleeves and a collar, and my skirt. The project was called Garden Amibance because it had floral inspiration throughout the garment. The collar did not have sharp corners, it had curved ones like a flower petal might have. The sleeves were petal sleeves, and the skirt had 3 flounces that I think are beautiful! The flounces themselves were a lot of work (half of the construction was done by hand!) but it was worth it. :] The skirt also had flower appliques. The whole look is a polyester crepe, lilac color. I have heard a lot of good things about my look; that it looks like an outfit the character, Allie Hamilton from the film the Notebook might wear. I was really happy to hear that, and after looking at it I think it does have some 1940's flare. If I could re-do something it would be the shirt fabric, and to make it from a white cotton with purple poke-a-dots instead. Although, that can always be made later on too :] I also made the same skirt in a biege color, for a woman that might want that instead of lilac.
